Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a kissing cousin to Tendinitis. In both, there is inflammation most often brought on by over-use of the involved body part.

The Mayo clinic reports that they care for almost 5,000 cases of CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) each year. Now, that is just one facility in the United States.
We can only imagine the number of cases that are being seen nation-wide.

Everyone needs to use their hands daily, so everyone is a potential candidate for CTS.

Who are the most susceptible to this condition, and Why?

Who are the most vulnerable, and why? Any activity that requires over-use of the fingers (especially grasping). Activities such as tennis,  hand shoveling, piano playing, guitar playing, typing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, factory work, and golfing. These are just a small representation of the numerous activities that can cause the condition known as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to appear.

They all cause swelling of the wrist tissues, thus pressure on the median nerve at the wrist.

How is CTS Treated, “Traditionally”?

Rest, wrist braces or splints, anti-inflammatory drugs, cortisone injections, and, as a LAST resort, surgery.

I digress: a man always bragged about how his wife repeatedly said that living with him was just like a vacation, yes, just like a vacation! The man paused for a moment, then said, “Well, maybe what I said wasn’t exactly true. What she really said was, I was the last resort!”

Similarly, surgery should only be agreed to as a last resort. All other avenues should be investigated, because once the wrist has been operated on, there is no turning back. (And your original body parts are your best parts!)

We offer a home therapy solution that the carpal tunnel patient can perform in the comfort of his or her own home. It is easy to accomplish and doesn’t require hours of time. Furthermore, the cost is very low. It consists of exercises and home P.T. (Physical Therapy).
