Tendinitis: Quadriceps

What Is It?

Inflammation and irritation of the quadriceps tendon is the factor at play here. The quadriceps tendon connects the large quadriceps muscle to the knee. Quadriceps tendonitis is a very common condition in athletes and sports people who are involved in activities that place excess strain and the knees and legs.

Possible Symptoms:

Pain from quadriceps tendinitis is felt in the area just above the patella (kneecap). There may be swelling in and around the quadriceps tendon and it may feel sensitive to touching and/or pressure. The pain can be mild or in some cases the pain can be so bad that it prevents athletes from playing their sport of choice.
